This game is meant to be simultaneous and there is nothing in the rules to push people into playing differently than the others.
Because of that, there are many situations where one play is objectively better than others and we really shouldn't see what the other players have done before we have committed our turn.
As I see it, there are 3 options here:
1) See what the others have done once you have done your own turn and don't allow people to cancel their turn (similar to what is done in railroad ink)
2) See what the others have done only once everyone has done his turn (and then you can and indeed should let players redo their turn as long as someone hasn't completed his, similar to what you have in Dice Hospital : Emergency Room)
3) The overkill option: lets player chose whether they want option 1 or option 2 as a player option. (I don't think any game does that no BGA)
On balance, I think that option 2 is better for turn-based games and both are rather equivalent for real-time games.
In the game I linked, #16, there is a clear superior play for most players. I didn't need to copy anyone to find it but I *was* able to see what Aladin had done which would have reminded me of that coup if I had not seen it.
