At the beginning you probably have cards of every suit and by their order you can tell how they beat each other. But as the round progresses you might run off some suits and then you don't have that visual reference anymore.
My sugestion: have the 4 suit icons to the left of the board in a circle with arrows from one to the next one so players always have a visual reference of the suit ranking. -
