While I am very much aware that all the special effects are optional and that BGA should resemble the rules of the physical game as close as possible, I vouch for automatic use of the pool and landscape effects. Correct me if I am wrong, but there are no situations where it is beneficial to opt-out of using pool/landscape, and there is always only one option of how to apply the effect.

I am not closing the suggestion so you can upvote it.
Maybe it could be an option you select?
Maybe as a user preference but people don't even know this exists (top right menu when in the game).
- a user preference (top right menu in game) to enable/disabled automatic park/pool action
- a button on top of bar to make it easier in manual mode
