I ran into many people confused about it and when I pointed it out, they thought it was a bug. Only by almost submitting a bug report did I see other people had some that and followed the trail to realize it was a rules update between editions. I think using alternate older rules here and there could be a good house Rule option when making a game. Hopefully that would allow people to enjoy it however they want and maybe naming it sometime like first edition such and such rule or rules will help people realize that didn't notice.

Some updates are more minor, but this edition making a strategic move that many relied on not part of the normal game does make sense to me, but also, I know people like to play with the old rules still often. Thanks for your consideration.

We're not at liberty to add house rules. We need to stick to what's officially supported by the publisher.

I came here to report the same issue before realizing it isn't a bug. The rules page below the game still indicates you flip the campfire. I'm looking into changing that so other's don't get confused.
